Long waitlists, high costs, and limited local providers leave individuals and families without care. For many, therapy remains out of reach simply because of the cost of getting started and staying consistent. SAVE Family Foundation is working to change that by offering therapy scholarships and subsidies so people can complete a full course of care rather than stopping early, alongside maternal mental health support and a growing network of trained clinicians serving Sacramento and Yuba City.
Too many people in our community can't access the mental health support they need.
Who we serve
In addition to our 2025-2027 focus on supporting mental health access in the Sacramento area, we are expanding our foundation work in the following domains:
Mental Health Inaccess
People facing difficulty accessing care and support during trauma, abuse, and other mental health crises.
OUR 2026 GOAL
Save Family Foundation has one clear goal for 2026:
helping people feel more supported, resilient, and able to cope with life’ challenges.
Mission
Save Family Foundation exists to strengthen physical and mental well being among vulnerable populations by developing thoughtful solutions, fostering trust, and working alongside partners to build ethical, sustainable systems of care.
Vision
SAVE envisions community-centered engagement that advances well-being at the individual and population level by addressing the core drivers of health.
Purpose
SAVE is guided by a commitment to selfless service, working alongside communities to support health, dignity, and joy.
Our Programs
Programs designed to meet people where they are.
From maternal mental health to clinical training that expands access to care
— Every program is built around the families and communities we serve.
SAVE's Maternal Mental Health Access Program supports pregnant and postpartum mothers through wellness education, community support, and access to care. It's designed to help mothers feel informed, supported, and more confident as they move through pregnancy and after birth, free and open to anyone who wants a supportive space to learn, connect, and ask questions.
We are an approved practicum site at our Sacramento and Yuba City locations, dedicated to supporting supervisees in providing high-quality, compassionate care. Supervisees train in specialized, trauma-informed treatments that are hardest to find locally, meaning every clinician we train is someone in our community who no longer has to go without the care they need.
Through school-based groups, community sessions, and in-house programming, we support young people across a range of well-being topics, from emotional regulation and healthy relationships to life transitions and safety. We also facilitate the MindOneSix curriculum by Pro Youth and are developing a breathwork program focused on nervous system regulation and resilience.
At SAVE Family Foundation, we believe well-being begins with the basics, and in Sacramento County, more than 1 in 4 of our neighbors are at risk of hunger.
Since food access is a core driver of both physical and mental health, we meet it directly: partnering with local farms, hosting "Food is Medicine" classes, and offering culinary medicine demonstrations led by certified instructors, alongside our ongoing community yoga and mental health programs. Looking ahead, we're deepening this work through food bank partnerships, expanded food literacy resources, and nutrition integrated into care, because true wellness is physical, social, and emotional all at once.
There's a place for you at SAVE.
